Walk and Talk has been developed by Gabrielle New to enhance the therapeutic experience by including Walking and Nature as treatment components to offer a more layered and deeper experience to the healing and change process. It is a structured experience involving; tuning in to the senses and environment, listening to the body and nature, building trust and exploring questions and finding answers.

Why?
Henry David Thoreau wrote, “Me thinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow.” Walking at our own pace creates an unadulterated feedback loop between the rhythm of our bodies and our mental state. Walking has many health benefits including; improved memory, attention, creativity, and overall cognitive functioning, reduces risk of depression, protects the brain from aging diseases and helps us to focus on the inherent wisdom in our bodies. When mixed with being in a natural environment the effects are enhanced by reducing anger, fear, and stress and increasing pleasant feelings. It helps you feel better emotionally and contributes to your physical wellbeing, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones.

So, walking and talking in nature allows us to brainstorm creative solutions to our issues and move through places where we might be stuck or blocked in a way that stimulates solutions toward healing.

Currently sessions are held in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula 1.5 hours from Melbourne, Australia. If interested in having sessions in other places go to the contact page and send a message to Gaby.
